Some may think that ice cream is a treat only for the summer, but the many ice cream shops throughout the city we call home make us think otherwise. Whether you’re a milkshake or fudge sundae type of person, we’ve compiled a list of must-visit ice cream places near campus. 

Van Leeuwen

Larimer Square’s latest addition is Van Leeuwen, an ice cream shop that originated in New York City. Only a short walk from campus, this spot offers a variety of flavors, toppings, ice cream sandwiches, and milkshakes.

Milkbox Ice Creamery 

This ice cream shop is found inside Denver’s historic Union Station. Participate in some people watching while enjoying gourmet ice cream, shakes, and vegan scoops. Fun fact: Their location used to be a barbershop.

Cornicello Gelato

Denver’s Milk Market wouldn’t be complete without Cornicello’s treats. This shop serves fresh spun ice cream, gelato, and shakes. Individuals who opt for a lactose free option can enjoy a selection of sorbets.

Heaven Creamery 

Located in the nearby Five Points neighborhood, Heaven Creamery rotates more than 500 flavors that are all made with natural and wholesome ingredients. This shop’s mission it to offer customers healthier frozen desserts.

Little Man Ice Cream

Ever wondered what the 28-foot-tall milk can across I-25 is home to? Many consider it the tastiest and freshest homemade ice cream in Denver. Day or night, enjoy a sweet treat on their lighted patio and enjoy unmatched views of downtown Denver.
