Employees, students, and community members convened in the Lawrence Street Center Terrace Room on Sept. 10 for a discussion on public administration, governance, and how public institutions can effectively serve communities. The event marked the third annual Dr. Mary E. Guy Distinguished Lecture, hosted by the School of Public Affairs.
The University of Michigan’s Donald Moynihan presented this year’s lecture. Moynihan holds the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Professorship of Public Policy at the Ford School. He’s regarded as one of the nation’s leading scholars of public management, government performance, and administrative governance. His research examines how public institutions build capacity, respond to political pressures, and deliver effective public services.
The Dr. Mary E. Guy Distinguished Lecture Series brings eminent scholars and thought leaders to campus each year to explore ideas that shape public service and contribute to social equity. The lectures—free and open to the public—are made possible through the generous support of the Dr. Mary E. Guy Endowed Lectureship Fund.
