Annual Future Fest Celebrates Academic Journeys and Research at CU Denver

October 5, 2023

The annual Future Fest brings our Lynx community together in celebration of the innovative research, initiatives, and ideas that are moving CU Denver and our city forward.

During this year’s event on Oct. 10, we heard inspiring stories from distinguished alumni, Andrea Albo (BA ’05) and Will Mundo (BA ’16, MA ’18, MD). They participated in a thoughtful conversation with Chancellor Michelle Marks, PhD, about their personal journeys to CU Denver. They shared their motivations for choosing our university and the deep connection they feel to it.

Students and staff had the opportunity to share their educational paths, work endeavors, and future aspirations. From exploring the genetics of bison to researching the mental well-being of first-generation students at CU Denver, these individuals showcased their significant contributions to our community.

We also heard updates on the state of research at CU Denver, including presentations from faculty members who are harnessing technology to support individuals with disabilities as they age and others who are revolutionizing forest regeneration after wildfires.

The third-annual Future Fest was an outstanding success and showed the spirit of progress and innovation that defines CU Denver.
