Leo P. Bruederle, associate professor of integrative biology, attended the 18th International Botanical Congress held in Melbourne, Australia. There, he presented an invited paper addressing the molecular biogeography of the bipolar sedges, a group of six species of Carex that have amphitropical distributions in northern North America and southern South America.
