Beth Myers, PhD, who has served as CU Denver’s associate vice chancellor for academic planning and institutional effectiveness for the past three years, accepted a new role on Dec. 1 as interim deputy chief information officer.
Myers has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, a master’s degree in engineering management, and a PhD in civil engineering. She has been with CU for more than 20 years and has served in various roles.
Myers will oversee the Office of Information Technology (OIT) at CU Denver and report to the executive vice chancellor for finance and administration. Myers will also serve as the CU Denver liaison to the CIO and vice chancellor for Information Strategy and Services (ISS) at CU Anschutz and the CIO and associate vice president for the CU System’s University Information Services (UIS). She will also continue to serve as co-chair of CU Data Governance.
The interim deputy CIO role will be filled by Myers through June 30, 2026. Myers was selected after an extensive search to fill a need created when the vice chancellor for information technology left the university in August 2025.
Throughout the interim period and transition, Myers will provide leadership to the Denver OIT teams in the areas of service delivery and operations, customer relationship management (CRM) and academic technology, and planning, analysis, and change. She will also represent CU Denver among a shared services group from CU Anschutz and advocate for CU Denver with UIS.
The provost’s office has shared an update on the transition plan for the Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness and the other areas Myers was responsible for overseeing.
