Denver’s favorite food trucks, live music, games, information and a bucking mechanical bull—all turned CU Denver’s fifth annual Block Party into a huge success.
More than 3,000 faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members feasted on lunch from seven food trucks and from sponsor Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q.
The music line-up featured One Flew West, which has developed a large following in Colorado and beyond, Atomga, a 10-piece Afro-funk collective and CU Denver alum DJ Chonz, one of the most recognizable DJs in Colorado
With 41 booths, including supporting sponsors Public Service Credit Union, Zipcar and Sir Bananas, attendees at the Block Party also had the opportunity to collect information about CU Denver and the city.
The Block Party highlights the downtown “education corridor” where CU Denver intersects with the heart of the city, physically connecting the university’s presence on the Auraria Campus with downtown Denver’s thriving theater and business districts.
