Sarah Engel, associate director of operations for the Business School’s Jake Jabs Center, will be honored as a 40 Under 40 recipient by the Denver Business Journal (DBJ) this spring.
Every year, the DBJ recognizes 40 local professionals for their business acumen and community involvement. Engel’s exemplarily service, grit, and collaboration led to her selection. Through the many challenges of 2020, she played an instrumental role in the launch and operations of several new initiatives at CU Denver, including the Design Horizons Labs Entrepreneurial Fellows Program, the FLASH Accelerator, and the strategic planning committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Engel has also helped connect Business School students with internship and volunteer opportunities through StepIn and the HumanKind Network during the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside of work, she is an active volunteer and mentor through several outdoor education and recreation organizations.
The DBJ publicly announced the winners in print on March 5. All honorees will be recognized at the DBJ’s virtual event on May 4 and in a special print supplement published on May 7.
