
Sarah McGarry, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP, joins the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) as the new Director of Interior Design. McGarry comes to CAP with nearly 20 years of experience in interior design. Most recently, McGarry served as a principal at Stantec, where she was responsible for the business and operations side of the practice as well as design leadership, management, and execution. She is now starting her own design firm, Clic Design Studio. Prior to Stantec, Sarah worked at RNL (now Stantec) and Hixson in Cincinnati, Ohio.
McGarry brings a wealth of experience as a lead designer on a wide range of corporate office projects including corporate headquarters, law firms, and financial services firms. In addition to her work, McGarry has served for eight years on the board of the Colorado Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), holding a variety of positions including Chapter President.
During her tenure as President, she initiated the “Best” Awards Program that recognizes interior design projects that showcase “Brilliantly Executed Spaces & Thinking.” In 2021, McGarry was awarded the Mile High CRE Climber Award, an award given to industry professionals who innovate, inspire, collaborate, and take risks.
Beginning in the Fall 2022 semester, CAP introduced a new minor and certificate program in Interior Design. McGarry will lead the charge in further developing and growing Interior Design at CAP.
