CU Denver Men’s Club Basketball team won the Auraria Intramural (IM) League Championship game.  The IM league is the adult league on the Auraria campus.

This season was comprised of the most ups and downs in CU Denver Men’s Club Basketball history. However, with a new wave of basketball talent added to the roster, and a combination of veteran leadership from captains Spencer Fair and Jonathan Cosmann, the team was able to reach its best record ever and win the IM League championships.

Going into the season, players had their eyes set on winning the league but never let their aspirations cloud team values—to improve our leadership skills, communication skills, ability to respect one another and ability to maintain a positive team attitude in the face of adversity.

Furthermore, the addition of coach Gordon Stevens propelled the team to a new level as he allowed players to develop by incorporating more structure and sound basketball knowledge within the existing system.

Overall, the success of the men’s basketball team cannot be attributed to any individual. It was truly a team effort, and we are very proud to represent the school, and establish a positive, winning Lynx culture along the way.
