There were lots of cowboy hat and cowboy boots wearin’ fans filling the seats in the arena for the 108th National Western Stock Show on Friday evening. It was the annual CU Night at the Stock Show. Quite a few folks also showed up in their black and gold CU gear.
Our CU Denver mascot Milo the Lynx was on hand to join the fun along with CU Boulder Buffalo Ralphie.
The evening kicked off with the National Anthem performed by College of Arts & Media student Andrea Pares — she’s majoring in performance and music business.
The crowd of CU students, alums, staff and their families enjoyed a range of activities and western taste treats.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the evening was the always popular Mutton Bustin’ contest that pits fiesty sheep against fierce young contestants. It’s always a wooly battle of wills.
The show also included entertainment by the Westernaires.
