Shift in COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement Coming July 1
|
The federal government has ended the COVID-19 public health emergency and CU Denver is ending its COVID-19 vaccine requirement effective July 1, but still recommends the vaccines. Studies show that the vaccines are effective tools to minimize the impact of the disease, which can cause serious illness and death. That’s why we will continue to encourage our community members to get vaccinated following CDC guidelines. The safety of our community is always our number one priority, which is why the university’s public health response team will continue to monitor health conditions that potentially impact our campus.

Learn More About Our Work with the Alliance for Hispanic Serving Research Universities
|
The Alliance for Hispanic Servicing Research Universities (HSRU) is hosting its first summit on May 15. CU Denver is a founding member of the association that includes 21 institutions that are Hispanic-Serving and classified as R1 (very high research activity). Together, we work toward two objectives that align with our CU Denver strategic plan goal of being an equity-serving institution. The Alliance aims to:
– Double the number of Hispanic doctoral students enrolled at member universities.
– Increase by 20% the Hispanic professoriate at member universities.
During the virtual program, leaders from the alliance—including Chancellor Michelle Marks—will discuss a variety of topics, including the origins of the alliance, some of the work already underway, the challenges that lay ahead, and why our efforts matter, especially now. There is no cost to attend the virtual event that runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The day’s schedule can be found here and you can register here.
