The year is 1980. You’re wearing your favorite neon-green fanny pack and tracksuit as Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” blares on a walkman. Life is groovy.
On Wednesday, Aug. 24, CU Denver’s annual Block Party will be a time warp of some of the nation’s greatest eras. Themed “through the decades” in celebration of CU Denver’s 50th anniversary, a block on the downtown side of campus will come to life with colorful outfits from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, themed Lynx swag (baseball caps, shirts, and water bottles, to name a few), live music, games, and some of Denver’s favorite food trucks, including Walking Taco, Rocky Mountain Slices, Downtown Fingers, Mac ’n Noodles, and Adobo. All CU Denver students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited.
This year’s special edition of the annual Block Party will serve as the kick-off for CU Denver’s milestone 50th anniversary, which we will honor this academic year with a series of events, activities, and opportunities to remember our past, celebrate our Lynx community, and look forward to the future.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
