If you’ve been seeing black and neon billboards with mysterious text on buses and trains around Denver, that’s Meow Wolf. The $60-million-dollar immersive art installation officially opens this Friday.
Meow Wolf’s Denver building, located close to campus at West Colfax Avenue and I-25, is showcasing Convergence Station. Featuring dreamlike sculptures, hallucinogenic environments, and high-tech video creations, Denver’s Meow Wolf includes the work of 120 Colorado artists, alongside Meow Wolf’s own group of 200 graphic designers, technologists, writers, fabricators, painters, sculptors, and musicians.
Professor Michelle Carpenter, chair of Visual Arts, encouraged her students to apply for creative internships while Meow Wolf’s installation was being built. Students at the College of Arts & Media received 16 out of the 20 internships offered.
