January 17, 2020

If you’ve exhausted the fast food dining options on campus, we have good news. The Auraria Campus is filled with hidden gems, from an authentic Mexican restaurant on the corner of the Ninth Street Historic Park to an order-ahead pizza joint in the Tivoli. The next time you forget your lunch or plan to eat out, you won’t have to go far to try something new.

Auraria Faculty-Staff Club, 1041 Ninth St. Park

Hence the name, this historic home-turned café welcomes Auraria Campus faculty and staff. The menu includes daily hot specials, sandwiches, and wraps. Go for the food; stay for the cozy atmosphere.

If you go: Try a breakfast burrito for $4.

Los Molinos, 906 Curtis St.

What started out as a food truck serving downtown workers has transformed into one of Denver’s authentic Mexican restaurants. Lucky for us, one of the locations is in our very own backyard.

If you go: Tacos galore!

Los Molinos

s’ONO in the Tivoli, 900 Auraria Pkwy.

Cultures collide at this casual dining spot at the center of campus. The one-of-a-kind dishes are inspired by Hawaiian-Korean and Asian fusion cuisine.

If you go: Check out the sweet and spicy sauces.

The Tivoli

Avoid the line and order a personal-sized pizza ahead of time. Menu options include customized or one-of-a-kind combos, such as the Train Wreck, made with pepperoni, mushroom, red onion, green pepper, and fresh sausage.

If you go: Satisfy your sweet tooth with banana foster for dessert.

Woodgrain Bagels, 1380 Lawrence St.

One of the newer additions to CU Denver, Woodgrain Bagels is located in the Laurence Street Center lobby. Among the menu items are savory sandwiches and fresh baked goods.

If you go: A portion of the menu is dedicated to avocado toast.
