We’re pretty lucky. One of the many advantages of being an urban research university is that some of the city’s best dining is just moments away from our desks, classrooms, and conference rooms. Which means that we have ample opportunities to sample fare from Mile High City chefs on the regular. If that weren’t enough, we’ve got lots of options for dining out on campus or nearby. From breakfast to dinner, here are five spots to fill you up.
BREAKFAST
The DNVR Coffee Co. | 1380 Lawrence St.
With the goal of providing livable wages and pouring perfect lattes, this Denver-based company serves up java, pastries, and more. But don’t miss the breakfast burritos and grab a bag of Denver Chip Co.’s sweet-and-spicy variety (in case you need a snack later).
Einstein Bros. Bagels | 1191 Larimer St.
When you’re looking for carbs and coffee (in no particular order), you can grab both from this location. Choose between avocado toast and a green chile bagel—but when in doubt, an everything bagel with cream cheese shmear is a classic choice.
LUNCH
Los Molinos Restaurant | 906 Curtis St.
The team behind this perennial campus favorite has more than three decades of food experience in Denver and now serves meals in a brick building on the corner of the Ninth Street Historic Park. The menu has a big variety, from pastas to gorditas, tortas, and mini flautas—are you hungry yet?
Qdoba | 1201 Larimer St.
A prominent feature in the Student Commons Building, this location of the popular chain has loads of guacamole, rice, beans, and more. This could be the year to find your perfect burrito combination.
DINNER
Infinitus Pie | 900 Auraria Parkway, Unit 229
Pizza can be divisive when someone in your group likes thin crust, another likes extra cheese, and someone refuses to eat pineapple. That’s not a problem at this pie shop—housed in the Tivoli—which can cater to all of those tastes (but order early; the restaurant closes at 7 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and 5 p.m. on Fridays).
