1973 was a memorable year. Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon album was at the top of the charts, the first cell phone call was made, the Denver Broncos had their first winning season—and on Jan. 11, CU Denver became an independent university!
As CU Denver celebrates its golden anniversary, we asked our community—which includes more than 110,000 alums—to join the conversation by sharing their stories.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, the City and County of Denver will officially proclaim Jan. 11 as CU Denver Anniversary Day. Be a part of the celebration:
- Join us at the Centennial House Progress Tour on Jan. 11 to learn more about the Ninth Street Historic Park initiative and our vision for the next 50 years.
- Share your favorite CU Denver moment and have an opportunity to be featured on the 50th anniversary website.
- Learn about our history by visiting the CU Denver History Exhibit in the Lawrence Street Center.
CU Denver’s mission to educate students continues to inspire us today, both locally and globally. With the support of the entire Lynx community, that mission will endure as CU Denver continues to grow.
