Students, alumni and members of the business community joined Business School Dean Sueann Ambron on October 21, for a ‘homecoming’ tour of the new Business School building scheduled to open January 2012.
The new building, located at 1475 Lawrence Street, will become home to all undergraduate and graduate Business School programs.
The event provided an opportunity for attendees to see the progress being made on the building and to get a behind-the-scenes view of what’s ahead for the Business School.
Senior Director Andrea Wagner (in photo wearing hard hat), CU Foundation, escorted groups through future classrooms, conference rooms, study and faculty office areas while learning about the new resources and programs that will be housed in the building.
“I’m excited for the Business School to have their own state-of-the-art building that will consolidate classes in one location and give the students a location to work on their courses that is designed around their degree program,” said David Garner, Business School alumnus.
One showcase area is the Center for Commodities – a state-of-the-art facility that will provide students with cutting-edge education on commodity markets, regulation, trading financial fundamentals, investing and risk management. A first-of-its-kind, this center will provide students with hands-on learning through commodity-specific research tools and a simulated trading floor.
The new building also will feature study areas, a café and classrooms equipped with cutting-edge technology.
The new building will serve as a hub for all aspects of business education for students, faculty and community business partners.
Following the tours, attendees of the event enjoyed networking at a near by restaurant in Larimer Square.
