Listening Sessions Scheduled for AVC for Research, AVC for Digital Strategy and Learning Positions

March 9, 2021

CU Denver will soon launch national searches for two associate vice chancellor positions.

AVC for Research

Chancellor Michelle Marks and Thomas Flaig, vice chancellor for research for CU Denver | Anschutz, will identify a search committee tasked with recommending top candidates over the next couple months with the goal of hiring the AVC for Research by June.

The campus will hold listening sessions the week of March 15 to gain student, faculty, and staff input on what skills and background they desire in the next AVC, as well as their ideas on what that leader should do to bolster campus research and creative works initiatives. Please see more details, including a hiring timeline, on the AVC for Research leadership search page

There will be three listening sessions. Those interested in attending can sign up at the links below.

Bob Damrauer, the current associate vice chancellor for research, will take on a new position next month in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

AVC for Digital Strategy and Learning

CU Denver is launching a search for an experienced digital education innovator and leader to serve as its associate vice chancellor for digital strategy and learning. This person will guide the campus in realizing its full potential to model an innovative hybrid campus experience that welcomes the broadest range of students, meeting them where they are. Reporting to the provost and working in close partnership with the chancellor, deans, faculty, and staff, the AVC will develop a holistic and inclusive digital learning strategy that reimagines and transforms the CU Denver student experience.

To help identify the key qualities and qualifications that will be integral in identifying the new leader, 45-minute listening sessions are scheduled to invite your input as a vital member of our campus community:
