Meeting the Moment: Sharing CU Denver Achievements and Stories
As we finish the academic year, we want to step back and celebrate our Lynx community.
Since our 2030 Strategic Plan launched two years ago, we’ve worked diligently in pursuit of our vision to make education work for all. Our students, faculty, and staff have all helped us take tangible actions in support of our strategic goals to build momentum.
That work has had an incredibly positive impact—and will continue to do so.
To amplify and share those endeavors as well as the broader work of the campus, we created a report—Meeting the Moment: 2022 Achievements and Stories—that highlights some of the people, places, and ideas behind recent accomplishments across CU Denver. This is inspiring work that deserves recognition.

As the report shows, this is a collaborative effort. And there is still so much more work to do. This academic year—which we’ll celebrate in the coming weeks and at Spring Commencement on May 13—has shown the myriad ways that CU Denver creates impact on campus and in its home city and beyond.
In addition to the stories in the university report, here’s a sampling of headlines that have shaped the 2022–2023 academic year.

Our History—and Future
We celebrated our Golden Anniversary by focusing on our past while looking to the future. A special event at Centennial House centered our ongoing efforts at Ninth Street Historic Park and spread awareness about the Displaced Aurarian Scholarship. Other opportunities for our campus community to celebrate this special year included Block Party, the creation of an Alma Mater, and a city proclamation.

Our Students
We welcomed students at convocation, applauded our veterans, celebrated 1,354 graduates with Fall Commencement, including these standout graduates, and welcomed future Lynx at Admitted Students Day.

Our Diverse and Talented Community
Throughout the year, CU Denver celebrated Lynx in various ways, including event roundups, staff spotlights, profiles of members of our Instructional, Research and Clinical Faculty, updates on the 2022–23 TIAA Chancellor’s Urban Engaged Scholars, and recognition of faculty excellence.

Our Research, Innovation, and Creative Work
From Grand Challenges announcements at Future Fest to Earth Day, April’s Cities Summit of the Americas, and the first-ever 5280 Thought Forum on the future of the Mile High City, CU Denver experts led conversations on topics that matter.

Our Connections
CU Denver created impact by working with partners including the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance, Innosphere Ventures, TheDream.US, Apple, University Innovation Alliance, and the Colorado Business Roundtable.

Our Alums
CU Denver graduates go places. This academic year, our alumni travelled to Antarctica, taught at Harvard University, served on city council, and spoke at commencement.
These efforts will continue, but we want to take this moment to thank our Lynx community for their efforts to make education work for all.
