National P3•EDU Conference Draws Higher Ed Leaders to CU Denver

October 9, 2023

Leaders and innovators from across and beyond higher education—including more than 150 colleges and universities—came to CU Denver last week for the fifth annual P3•EDU conference, subtitled Innovation and Public-Private Partnership in Higher Education. One session featured Chancellor Michelle Marks moderating a fireside chat with U.S. Department of Education Undersecretary James Kvaal, the nation’s top higher education official. Their discussion topics ranged from student loan reform to how fatherhood affected Kvaal’s views on his work. Kvaal told conference-attendees that partnerships are crucial to maximizing the societal impact of higher education. “We all have a stake in having more people go to college, having a more educated populace that’s going to generate widespread prosperity, more opportunity, and economic growth,” Kvaal said.
