Students and employees stopped by the Auraria Library on Sept. 29 to take the edge off mid-semester stress by hanging out with some furry friends. Freedom Service Dogs brought their pups to the Auraria Library to spread cheer and get plenty of attention. The nonprofit breeds and trains service dogs for mental health facilities and for veterans and first responders with PTSD or other disabilities.
The Auraria Library partnered with College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) and the Faculty Assembly Disability Committee to put the event on in recognition of National Service Dog Month—but Lynx can generally look forward to a visit from these service dogs every semester.
