Patrick Browne ’10, MA ’18, who served as Director of Veteran & Military Student Services at CU Denver, passed away in early March after a long battle with a medical condition (unrelated to COVID-19). A U.S. Army veteran, Browne was committed to serving veteran and military college students, as well as their spouses and families.
Browne’s family has established a scholarship in his name to support veteran students at CU Denver and to honor his legacy. “He never swayed from his commitment to our student veterans and active military, standing with them, advocating for them, and creating a community for them where they felt like they belonged,” Lauren Jacobs, associate director of Alumni Engagement, wrote. Browne’s family, in collaboration with CU Denver, is planning a Celebration of Life for later this summer. Because they would like to hold the event in person, they are waiting until in-person gatherings are safe, as per public health guidelines.
Yvonne Dinsmore will be serving as interim director for Veteran & Military Student Services.
