The Auraria Campus was buzzing with new students and their families the week of Aug. 10 as learners moved into City Heights and Lynx Crossing residence halls. Dozens of CU Denver employees volunteered to welcome students, pass out Gatorade and water, and help the day run smoothly.
The beginning of a new academic year can be an exhilarating time, especially for first-year students and their families. On Thursday, Aaron Curtiss and Jennifer Oldham were proud to be moving their second child, Jude Curtiss, into City Heights Residence Hall. “Our kids got in other places, but they wanted to be downtown,” he said. “It’s a competitive school that expects students to punch above their weight, and that really appealed to our sons.”
